Role: Retail Store Manager
Location: Exeter
Salary: £34,000 plus bonus
Type: Permanent position
Hours: Monday to Friday, some weekends
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of a retail store. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for managing staff, driving sales, and ensuring the store operates efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of service.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate the store team (currently 4 staff plus an assistant store manager) to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Manage daily operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and store presentation.
- Supervise staff, providing training/coaching and development opportunities to enhance their skills and performance.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure clarity in tasks and expectations.
- Implement sales management strategies to maximise revenue and profitability.
- Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment for both staff and customers.
- Utilise effective time management skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ensure excellent phone etiquette when dealing with customer inquiries or issues.
Skills & Experience
- Store Management experience is a must
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and staff alike.
- Proficient in supervising staff while fostering a positive work environment.
- Experience in sales management with a track record of achieving targets.
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail in managing store operations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of service.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure all aspects of the store run smoothly.
- A proactive approach to selling with the ability to engage customers effectively.
My Client offer a competitive base salary of £34,000 DOE plus additional bonus/commission based on the stores performance against KPIs.
Monday to Friday 8.30-6 but will also include some weekends as agreed with your team and Area Manager.
